Guiting Stone Limestone
Guiting Stone is a well-known Cotswold limestone that has been used in traditional building across the region for many years. Quarried in Gloucestershire, it is recognised for its warm honey colouring and natural texture, which gives walls and stonework a soft, established appearance once installed.
The stone typically ranges in colour from light cream through to deeper golden tones, often with subtle fossil markings visible within the surface. These natural features give Guiting limestone its character and are part of what makes it such a popular choice for both building and landscaping.
Guiting Stone has long been used for walling, masonry and architectural features throughout the Cotswolds. When used as coping stones it provides a strong and attractive finish to garden and boundary walls, helping to shed rainwater away from the wall below while maintaining a natural limestone appearance.
As with all genuine natural stone, some variation in colour and texture will occur from piece to piece. These natural differences are part of the appeal of real limestone and help create a finish that looks authentic and well suited to both traditional properties and modern garden projects.
