Bath Stone
Bath Stone is a traditional English limestone that has been used in building for centuries, particularly throughout the city of Bath and the surrounding areas. It is well known for its warm honey colouring and fine, even texture, which gives buildings a distinctive and elegant appearance.
This natural limestone has a soft golden tone that works particularly well alongside brickwork and other natural materials. One of the reasons Bath Stone has been so widely used in architecture is because it produces a very clean and uniform finish while still retaining the natural character expected from genuine stone.
Bath Stone is often chosen for architectural masonry, walling and stone detailing where a classic limestone appearance is required. When used as coping stones it creates a neat and traditional finish to garden walls and boundary walls, while also helping to protect the masonry below by directing rainwater away from the face of the wall.
As with all natural stone, small variations in colour and texture will occur. These differences are part of the material itself and help give Bath Stone its authentic look once installed. Its warm colour and refined appearance make Bath limestone coping stones a popular choice for both period properties and more contemporary landscaping projects where a natural stone finish is desired.
